Referee Tony Moran has warned Pat Hogan to clean up his strikes or he may lose a point in his bout against Elis Powell at Caged Vengeance 17 in Atlantic City. Moran, who previously warned Hogan for two eye gouges, a kick to the back of the head of a downed opponent, grabbing the cage to prevent a takedown and several low blows after the bell, let the fighter know that he was on thin ice.

“Listen here, Pat,” Moran said to Hogan during a stoppage while doctors tended to a cuts on Powell’s forehead, cheeks and eye. “I’m going to give this back to you but you need to promise me you’re going to put it somewhere safe. You know that long of a blade is not allowed in the cage, and if you keep it up I’m going to have no choice but to consider the possibility of giving you a formal warning.”

At press time, the bout was stopped while doctors assessed Powell’s vision following what Moran deemed to be an accidental eye-stab caused by Hogan finding his range with a closed hand that also had a knife in it.
