A member of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu royalty found himself in hot water today when fans dug up an old tweet by Renzo Gracie where the Black Belt quoted famed Holocaust-doer Adolph Hitler. Fans pointed out the tweet, which read, “Anyone can deal with victory. Only the mighty can bear defeat. – Adolf Hitler,” could be read as an endorsement of the genocidal dictator by any users who possess basic reading comprehension skills.

“I just can’t believe Renzo would do something like this,” one distraught fan replied. “Imagine a Nazi quote from a guy who’s a tourism ambassador for Brazil’s fascist president but who also smiles and laughs a lot. It’s inconceivable!”

Gracie responded to users upset about the tweet, noting it was all the way back in 2014 when he didn’t even know who Hitler was, and that all the haters were just envious of the pure, radiant goodness he provides the world every day. Gracie did concede that all future Hitler quotes will not include attribution, and that Hitler wasn’t even that cool anyway ever since he learned the Nazi warlord committed suicide, “like a coward bitch.”
