Takashi Sato’s bad weekend got a little worse on Sunday when airline officials informed the UFC welterweight he would need to pay a carry-on fee for fellow fighter Gunnar Nelson. Sato, who was flying home following a unanimous decision defeat to Nelson at UFC Fight Night: Volkov vs. Aspinall, ultimately conceded the airline’s argument that Nelson was too large to count as a personal item, but expressed his exasperation at the situation. While Sato was happy to allow airline representatives to remove Nelson should he not meet the qualifications, he cautioned it was a lot fucking harder than it sounds.
