Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and New York street assault legend Renzo Gracie is back in the news for doing what he does best, using his lifetime of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training to take down and assault a man he assures us definitely deserved it. Gracie, beloved by the Jiu-Jitsu masses for his career of high-level competition, elite fighter training and gleefully sharing stories of violently assaulting unconscious alleged petty criminals, confirmed he was the man in the video. WhatsApp recordings allegedly reveal Gracie claiming the man was racist and accused him of speaking ill of him to his friends in Portuguese, a counterclaim which you should consider while ignoring that Gracie went out of his way to note the man’s dark skin in the alleged recording.
Disaster nearly struck as a woman viewing the fight attempted to separate the two while imploring others to help break it up, but she was fortunately wrenched away from the pair by one of Renzo’s friends. Gracie declined comment, except to state, “as the great saying goes, ‘If you win, you need not have to explain.'”
