New York Commission As Professional as Always

Things went as well as anyone expected of an event held at the US’ premier sports arena.

The UFC spent the weekend back at Madison Square Garden, an arena once seen as the end goal for the sport’s expansion due to its fame and its symbol as a realization of the passage of legalized MMA in New York state, and the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) made sure to treat the event with all of the care and expert work fans have come to expect of bouts in the state. Anytime the UFC shows up for an event at the Garden, fans know it’s going to be stacked with big fights, and this two-title affair was no different. That’s why it’s reassuring to know you’re watching a card overseen by a commission that is nothing short of entirely consistent in its performance levels from event to event. In a time and sport when there is often so much insecurity and apparent randomness, we applaud the NYSAC for being a bastion of pure inescapable reliability.
