The UFC has announced its latest headliner and hold on to your hats because it’s a super fight battle between 2020 UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones and 2020 UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic. MMA fans have long wondered what would happen if the champion of the Light Heavyweight division threw down with the reigning Heavyweight champion, and now we’re set to definitively answer that question for 2020.
“We’re in the business of making the fights fans want to see,” said UFC president Dana White when announcing the bout. “That’s why we’re excited to offer a fight that was the most anticipated and requested fight in the sport for well over a year.”
Fans are thrilled at the news, declaring the bout is exactly what they need to forget about the months of quarantine that preceded it. The card is also filling out quickly with an announced co-main event between Rose Namajunas and Nicco MontaƱo to crown the queen of the women’s divisions in 2018 and a hotly anticipated bout between Tony Ferguson and a returning Khabib Nurmagomedov.
