Dana White, who once got caught on camera in a club being physical with his wife then slapping her twice, has revealed why Stipe Miocic was not included in the Interim UFC Heavyweight Title fight on the upcoming UFC 295 card after his opponent, champion Jon Jones, was forced to withdraw due to injury, noting that Miocic is the most decorated fighter in UFC Heavyweight history and he would never make someone that respectable denigrate himself by fighting for an imaginary title.
“We wouldn’t think of doing something so disrespectful to a champion like Stipe,” White said when addressing the media on Wednesday. “This is a serious man with serious accomplishments and you want us to offer him a pretend title fight? Make that man show up to press conferences with a fake belt? How lowly do you think we think of him?”
UFC 295 goes down November 11 headlined by a bout between Jiří Procházka and Alex Pereira for the doubly-vacated, one-time unawarded UFC Light Heavyweight Title, while Tom Aspinall and Sergei Pavlovich battle for the Interim UFC Heavyweight Title.
